The Eternal King of Pop!

I still remember those times when there weren't many television channels and channel V was more an English music channel. Every time a Michael Jackson song was playing we used to sit glued in front of the television set. His trademark moonwalk, his pelvic thrusts, his screams...all of it was a craze. And like his singing and dance moves, his music videos were also quite a rage. Be it Thriller or Billie Jean or Black or White. Each and every song and video was a cult in its own way. Any dance competition and there had to be an MJ act. Such was his following and such was his music.

And then came the time where we heard less and less about the King of Pop. Whatever we heard was not his iconic singing but about his turbulent and highly controversial personal life and his ever changing appearance.

Over the past few years, MJ kind of existed in oblivion. His name popped in news columns once in a while, but again for everything else than 'MJ the King of Pop'. Even his much publicised comeback tour did not really create the kind of frenzy, which so much used to be synonymous with an MJ tour.

Today, when he has left for heavenly abode, all we can say is that MJ you might not be present in person, your songs will always be with us. There was and never will be anyone like MJ. You surely were the King and will always remain the King of Pop!
